"Long will stand the Vigils of Kelnor, those who will serve the Argenthrone as the arbiters of its laws. If the Eyes are to be the King's hands, serving as his guard and soldiers, then the Vigils will serve as his ears and mouth hearing the disputes of the people and resolving them to the fullest extent of the laws of King and Clan."   The Vigils are the judges of the Kelnorian legal system and are found in almost every settlement in the country. Most, but not all, are pulled from the Argenthrone's Personal guard, an elite order of the Eyes known as the _____________, and as are well versed in kingdom law and their loyalty to the throne absolute. That being said, their duties are not limited to those of Judge, as they are also called upon to advise Exarchs on local laws that are in effect or are in the process of being ratified. In settlements where the placement of a contingent of Eyes is either not possible or impractical the Vigil also serves as a sort of town sheriff as well as judge and legal advisor to the settlement.
