About the Underdark
Geography
A vast, subterranean realm far beneath the surface of the Prime Material Plane. Though the Underdark is not a separate realm (like the Feywild or the Astral Plane), it is no simple excursion to reach, and it is a realm of wonders and horrors that surface folk would find supremely alien.
Fauna & Flora
The creatures and plants of the Underdark are strange, dangerous, and highly adapted to the dark. Luminous mushrooms sprout like shrubs and grass on the surface world and their beauty is only outweighed by their toxicity.
Natural Resources
The Underdark is full of versatile plants, along with minerals, gems, and magical components. Skilled Drow rangers are particularly familiar with the intricacies of the Underdark ecosystem and train for decades to collect and utilize the natural resources.
History
In the wake of the War of the Seldarine and Lolth 's destruction of the Sylvan Isles, the Drow followed their Dark Mother into the depths to hide, regroup, and create their own society away from their former brethren. They delved deeper than the Dwarves and found their home among the immpossibly vast caverns in the deep dark.
