Ku'lam District
The coastal district of Ku'lam is the most diverse in all of Sulafat. Dwarves, humans, elves, and drow mix and mingle at the various guilds and nightclubs near Port Zavozam. Many Sulafatis travel to the district for food, drink, and plentiful shopping experiences avaliable in Ku'lam.
Outside of Ku'lam, some Sulafatis view it as simply a place of hedonism. Ku'lam's residents, however, see it as a cultural hub for the city. Elegant elven artworks, beautiful dwarven metalworkings, and dazzling gnome jewelry adorn the shops and market stalls that line the streets and alleyways that make up Ku'lam, and it has become a safe haven for people and groups seeking religious freedom.
Ku'lam has also, however, become a point of contention for the governing body of the Stormbound Alliance. Alternative thinking is commonplace in Ku'lam, and many residents are highly critical of the Alliance, calling it by the degrogative name "Lothatulshar," or "Little Empire." Stormbound Alliance troops have gotten into skirmishes with Ku'lam residents repetedly, some of which turned out deadly.
Still, the district is alive and well, and positivity and prosperity are abundant.
Tchaky'ostal
The famous food of Ku'lam District is tchaky'ostal, which is a thin and long loaf of bread dipped in rich, fire-lichen-paste-filled chocolate. The fire lichen can be replaced with berries, peanuts, or anything else that the maker desires. This treat is served everywhere from market stalls to fancy eateries, and is particularly popular at festivals and celebrations.
