Ialia the Scorching

Fey God of Fire, The South Wind, Summer, Family, the Hearth, Deserts, Heat, and Ash. Ialia is the Summer God of flames and sand, and the creator of Idris’s great deserts. She is an arrogant and prideful god who wishes all to feel her radiance, and cares little for its byproduct. After all, if one wishes to withstand the heat there are myriad ways to adapt. During the summer it was Ialia that stoked the sun’s rays to make them shine for brighter and longer, and her sands were simply intended to reflect and cascade as much of that light as possible. But while her flames can bring ruin and exhaustion, they can also bring good harvests and survival in the face of the coming winter.  Summer is a season of warmth both harsh and prosperous, and Ialia reflects that inherent duality by also being a god of family and the warm hearth. Ialia’s followers are looked upon with great fear in many mortal kingdoms, as in her temperaments she often commands them to light fire upon the fields of the unfaithful and bless those that worship her well. In Fey lands her fickle nature is respected and seen as a source of great mirth, as no matter how hot she stokes her flames the Feywild refuses to burn.   TENETS OF IALIA: Fire cleanses an overgrown forest. Feel most at home among expanses of sand, where you can find the most warmth in the world. Drink and eat as a fire does. Take and consume the bounties of Summer! Bring warmth to the cold parts of the world, and have solidarity and shelter in the winter. Let your passions burn as hot as white flame, and let nothing stand in your way.   SYMBOL OF IALIA: A ring of flame.
