Gañarash
To the southwest of the great mountains of Idiari lies the vast Suel Plain, which became the settlement of the people that would become known as Gañara.
Suel's seemingly endless pastures provided excellent grazing grounds while its rich, fertile loam and mild, rainy climate made it well-suited for farming. Thus the Gañara were able to tame vast swaths of farmland. Following the unification of Idiari and the subsequent construction of vast aqueducts from the western river, the Gañara were able to produce far more consistently, no longer being dependent on the rain. Their population grew and spread, but this gradually lead to conflicts when farmers' expanding grounds ran into each other and a series of small civil wars called the Great Squabbles. While the region has long since become more orderly, they remain much more insular than other tribes, being loyal to their own small towns rather than the Gañara as a whole.
Gañara has served as Idiari's bread basket since the nation's industrialization. They were able to provide food for the growing cities due to improved farming techniques and the decreased strain thanks to imports from the colonies, even as their own population has not kept pace. The Gañara have only been the primary force between one colony, though many Gañarash have been part of other tribes' colonial efforts.
As of the 656 census, 2,340,203 people identified as Gañarash or Gañara-Loush.
