Sacred Mountain Sanctuary

Geography

The Sacred Mountain Sanctuary is not public, classified, or even secret as it remains physically inaccessible to unauthorized personnel. Entry points are occluded by naturally aggressive terrain, glacial runoff, stone collapse vectors, and altitude decay. Routes are few. Fewer are stable. Only designated stewards retain passage authority, and even they are advised not to rely on memory alone. The mountain’s topology reorders itself regularly. This is considered a feature.   Internally, the Sanctuary comprises a vertically inverted biome of exceptional integrity. Terraced stone platforms radiate from a central hollow, connected by bridge systems formed of stabilized root and vine structures. Flora is non-native, self-sustaining, and compliant. Of note: multiple tree species exhibit reverse gravitational growth, with canopies extending downward from the cavern ceiling.   Ambient lighting originates from lithic resonance, a compound effect of geomantic charge and long-cycle druidic saturation. All chambers maintain near stasis-level airflow.   The system is alive. It is stable. It is ours.   Visitors are not accommodated.

History

The precise origin of the Sacred Mountain Sanctuary remains unverified. Internal archives maintain multiple contradictory formation theories. Glacial erosion, subterranean tectonics, or instantaneous divine intervention. The third remains the most operationally favored. Field inscriptions and geomantic alignments suggest an intentional structure, consistent with patterns attributed to the goddess Vikara.   Her formal association with the Sanctuary dates to post-Enlightenment cycles, when she ceased external migration and assumed custodial authority over the mountain’s internal ecosystem. This transition marked the beginning of what administrators now classify as the Sanctified Epoch.   During this period, deities of varying pantheonic alignment began to entrust Vikara with biological reliquaries, unique, often extinct-adjacent lifeforms associated with divine portfolios. Some were endangered. Some were weapons. All were archived. The Sanctuary’s function as a divine repository developed without ceremony and without interruption.   Though Vikara has since suspended visible activity within the grove, her claim remains intact. There have been no successor gods. No reassignments.

Tourism

The Sacred Mountain Sanctuary is not open to the public. While its historical and divine significance is acknowledged by multiple religious and academic institutions, the Covenant of the Wither Bloom maintains strict guardianship over the site. Entry is limited to sanctioned caretakers and those with direct, ritual purpose. Unauthorized visitation is strongly discouraged, both for reasons of spiritual sanctity and personal safety. No accommodations exist for tourism, pilgrimage, or academic survey at this time.
