Slope Leopard
Though they spend much of their lives hunting in the lowland jungle of Brunivard, the Slope Leopard lives on the flanks of the great plateaus. They are tremendous climbers, and can go up and down seemingly sheer cliffs with ease. They prefer caves for shelter, and will drag grasses back to the caves to dry and build up bedding areas for comfort, almost like a nest.
Slope leopards are ambush predators, lying in wait and depending on surprise and speed to get the upper hand. They will chase Bamboo Deer and are among the few great cats on Brunivard that will chase a River Camel into the water, though only juveniles, never an adult. They will also hunt the birds that live on high branches or steep slopes, using their climbing skill to their advantage. Slope Leopards will only go after a Tree Rhinoceros in times of great need.
Slope leopards live in small family groups, raising one or two kittens at a time. One reason for the padded bedding area is to provide a soft landing as the kittens learn to climb the rock walls of the cave.
