SE06 : EP11 - Kidnapping in Mortenfield pt. 4

At the local tavern they discuss their findings. Merit explains the few details of the upcoming meeting at the Washed Ashore. They decide to all go together to the meeting. Arriving in stages Merrit and Gavin Gracewater lead Leiynmikayla "Kayla" Holt , Sentinel into the bar and greet the waitress they had connected with earlier. They are lead to the VIP lounge. Merrit inquires what the name of the owner to which the rel[ly is “Tax.” A coolness enter the group dynamics.   Below Alder the Red arrives late as they had pre-arranged. He takes in the posturing of the pit bosses as he makes his way to the bar. Ryder enters even later and tries to blend in. Daphix takes the shape of a common house fly and covertly enters the private room. A boy of fifteen enters to serve wine. They asking questions about his employer. Daphix notices a suspicious awareness about him, even eyeing the Druid in his beast shaped form.   Bouncers walk up to Ryder and Alder and invite them to join their friends. Surprised but seeing no sense making a scene they head off to the private room. Once inside the boy shifts into man who introduces himself as Tax. After a few tense moments of posturing they discover they are both against the slavers. Once they come to term he invited them to follow him back to the main room.   Tax shifts into man with long haired blonde as he defends the stairs. Once at the end of the bat he points out a character at the end of the bar. “That’s man is one.” Looking up the party the highlighted man told. The plow through the crowded bar and chances him through the streets. In the end Setinel uses his superior speed to get ahead of him and knocking him down. After integrating the runner they get a time and place on the dock where the children are being moved. They wait until nightfall and then assault a werehoiuse on the docks.   As they fight the men loading eh ship a bell peels out from the town. Some type of emergency is happening, but the parry is too far into the pitched of battle to Phaethon what it is. Daphix still shaped into a fly investigates the crates and discovers that while the children are in one of them, a baby green dragon in another. A roar is heard high above the town. A shadow flys across the moon a dragon shaped silhouette slides across the streets. As the party clears out the slavers they quickly uncage the small dragon. The adult bellows out cries in draconian that reverberate through the buildings.   Half the party focus on getting the kids to safety and the others fly the hatchling to its mother. As they discuss things with the infuriated the dragon mother they are able to stop here from destroying the town but they will be expected to pay monthly tribute to her.   They get the kids both gnolls and others back to their parents. All and all it was a successful mission and the folk of Mortenfield are grateful.
