SE04 : EP37 - The Last Ark of Bahumat

General Summary

Kellasin Leafstrider stands armor removed in the baking sun. All the red dots scatter but one. A single red pinprick of light hangs on Kellasin's chest. The groups slowly rises to join their comrade.   "Do you stand with Humanity of the scaled devils?" I shouted from the short stack of buildings across the sand.   "We have no ties to the ones you fight." Orwyn replies.   "Then cuff the traitor and approach." The sniper bellows.   They bind Kellsin's wrists. Orwyn casts a deathward on the dragoon. They then head into the hollowed out compound.   A group of grimm looking surviors gathher near them. They hold out long well machined tubes of metal affixed to grip not unlike a hand crossbow. These patchwork clothed warriors escort them to a room lit by strange globes of thin wires of superheated metal.   "Who are you and what are you doing with him." Their leader says.   The group introduce themselves and discover that the Kellsin of this world goes by a different last name, the name of the Horizian dragoon's partner, Jakob Pruit. They go one to explain their knowledge of this world's conflict, due to it's parallels with world of flails. At length the warriors relax a little. They believe the party is not the villains they though them to be.   They find that this Kellsin Pruit switched allegiances from Bahumat to Tiamat after his partner died. Carving a bloodily path across the land adding the chromatic dragons exterminate their enemies. The story concludes with tale of the last ditch effort to recover the essence of the platinium dragon god. It was the voyage of the last ark of Bauhmut. Right before the oceans dried.   They see this as a most logically way to proceed. After pledging to seek the ship's fate, the warriors release the bonds from Kellsin's hands. And the party is allowed to leave.   After getting away from the settlement they patch up both Kellsin and his armor. They discuss the nature of this world and what is real and what is "the show." Not coming to a consensus they proceed assuming the dangerous at least is real.   They head west as the sun lowered in the sky ahead of them. The terrain shows traces that reveal it's former life as sea bed, debris, stones, and crushed shells. That settlement must have once been a coastal town some long time ago. After hours, they find artifacts of fishermen. Massive nets, beyond there understanding of practical use.   The group decided to split up to cover more territory. To aid in this Kellisin summons Polaris to allow a connection between the two parties. The moon begins to rise and the reflective sand gives an eerie glow to the landscape.   As they cross they keep a distant eye on each other. As the night wears on, a shimmer appears out in the distance. They twin groups converge on to it. It sends them on the right path to discover the remains of large wooden sailing ship, unlike anything they have ever seen. Large and made in shapes unlike what they are used to. Three mast rise up with twisting tatters of sailcloth hung on their cross beams. As they approach they notice a chest sitting upon it's main deck. It glows lightly with mystical energy.    Before they can arrive sounds from the far side of the slightly capsized boat hull. Ryder stealths around the buried ship carcass to see what could making that noise. The rouge discovers a clutch of wyverns stirring.    They swoop up and attack. The battle through a mess of deadly attacks. And after trading blows the fight worn party emerges victorious.   Kellsin forces open the chest. Magic pours out and washes over him. The radiant energy ignites the night sky. And bursts out in many directions.   Phantom applause errupts and washes over the scene. The crowd is pleased.
