SE03 : EP27 - Acererak's Tomb of Horrors Part I

General Summary

They make there way into the passage way. Ornate friezes and paintings grace the walls. Checking the first innate depictions they see a door belonging to a tourure room just beyond pair of hybrid man-beasts flanking a chest rleifted into the wall. Ryder investigates the chest and disarms a mechanism. It falls forward open. Pararthis scoops up a rod that sit within. This causes the floor gives out underneath them. Hone, Ryder, and Parathas fall in. They narrowly miss falling into the poison spikes at the bottom, but are banged around in their 30' fall. Kellisan throws down a rope after them allowing them to climb out.   They switch to a very specific methodology to the passageway. Ryder examines and identifies more traps. Kellisan moves along disabling them. At the end of this wall adorn with a yawning face, a wide open mouth is pitch black with an archway to one side. Dayphixs moves around examining the floor, seeing runs in the red trace of the floor's tilework. It revals to him a message from a beign calling itself Acererak.   "Acererak congratulates you on your powers of observation, so make of this whatever you wish, for you will be mine in the end no matter what! Go back to the tormentor or through the arch, and the second great hall you’ll discover. Shun green if you can, but night’s good color is for those of great valor. If shades of red stand for blood, the wise will not need sacrifice aught but a loop of magical metal—you’re well along your march. Two pits along the way will be found to lead to a fortuitous fall, so check the wall. These keys and those are most important of all, and beware of trembling hands and what will maul. If you find the false you find the true, and into the columned hall you’ll come, and there the throne that’s key and keyed. The iron men of visage grim do more than meets the viewer’s eye. You’ve left and left and found my tomb, and now your souls will die."   "Oh great a riddle." Hone states. Ryder writes it all down into their journal. The rest start to puzzle out the message. Examining the archway it is filled with impenetrable vapors. Orwyn tests the vapors with a bolt which slips from his grip, teleported away. Colored stones a affixed around the frame. Touching these stones seems to glow with colored light. Experimenting with it they geuss at what colors they can generate. Orwyn rests the vapors and appears at the front of the hallway. After a minute parathas trys the archway and disappears. Orwyn crosses the way and disappears through. Daphyx shurgs and teleports through.   Hone, Ryder, and Kellisan are discussing the madness of this kind of experimentation. They worry they might all be dead.   The three that traveled through they find a room with statues. The begin to examine the objects and elements of the room. Glyphs line the walls. The humanoid statues hold orbs of varying colors. At one end is a gargoyle that at one time had four arms but is missing one now. On one side doors are seated in the plaster walls. After sending Kellisan's steed Polaris to verify safe travel, the remaining party members arrive in this statuary hall.   They try to delve into the mysteries of the space. Many of the Various statues are partially illusionary. Under one is a crawl space. After discussing Kellisin begin into on of them. Fifteen minutes of crawling later he arrives at a cathedral dressed in dark imagery. Soon after the rest follow.   They find a corpse that points to a nother vapor-way doorframe. A chair is promently in the center of teh back wall and before it is a stone platform. As they investigate they find treasure in the pews, and holy energies all about the room except a desecration emanating from the platform, an alter.
