Expert

Introduction

The Expert class in Honarth is comprised of characters who have honed their skills in various areas of expertise, such as science, engineering, medicine, or art. They are knowledgeable individuals who are able to analyze and solve problems efficiently and effectively. They play an important role in supporting the party with their specialized skills and technical expertise.  

Class Abilities

The Expert class is defined by their high level of knowledge and advanced technical skills. They have access to a wide range of tools, gadgets and equipment, which allow them to be incredibly effective in many different situations. They are able to identify and analyze problems quickly, and have the ability to quickly find solutions. They can also act as a support for other members of the party, helping to heal wounds, enhance the capabilities of others, or resolve complex technical issues.  

Starting Equipment

Experts start with a variety of advanced technological tools and equipment. This may include high-tech medical supplies, engineering gadgets, data analysis devices, or artistic tools. Additionally, they may be equipped with a personal communicator and a holoprojector, allowing them to communicate with the rest of the party and project visual images.  

Backgrounds & Occupations

Experts can come from a wide range of backgrounds and careers, including doctors, engineers, scientists, or artists. They may have been born with a natural talent for their area of expertise, or they may have received extensive training. Regardless of their background, they are all knowledgeable and highly skilled in their chosen field.  

Roleplaying

Experts are usually introverted and analytical individuals, but they can also be charismatic and persuasive when they need to be. They may find it difficult to understand the motivations of more physical or intuitive characters, but they are always eager to share their knowledge and help others. They play an important role in supporting the party with their advanced technical skills and knowledge, but they can also be the source of conflict if they are not respected by the other characters.

Here are a few suggestions for brawn classes in other RPG Systems. Examples include:

• Engineer, Scholar (SW5E)
• Bard "Entertainer" (DnD, Pathfinder, etc)
• Decker, Rigger (Shadowrun)

 

For Game Masters

As a Game Master, it is important to keep in mind that Experts can be a valuable asset to the party, but they can also be a source of frustration if they are not utilized properly. It is important to encourage players to explore their character's expertise and to provide them with opportunities to use their skills. Additionally, Experts may require more advanced technology and equipment than other characters, so it is important to consider the impact of this on the game world. Encourage players to work together with their Experts to find solutions to the challenges they face, and to help them to understand the motivations of the other characters in the party.
