The Wicker Man
The Wicker Man is one of many rituals completed by the Circle Syndicate. These druids are the only ones with access to the text depicting these ancient ways of life that were destroyed in The Fall. The Fall destroyed almost everything around it. The ruins where the druids found the ancient texts were one of the few places that was under a protection spell when The Fall occurred, preserving the history of druid culture for people to find in the future. The Wicker Man is about Banishing and welcoming, death and rebirth, out with the old and in with the new.
History
Long before The Fall, all people were more open and willing to try new things, which led to more ways to practice magic. One of these ways was a druid circle, the circle of wicker. They weave and craft effigies and dolls of wicker that they can tie their magic to. After the Fall, the ways of the Circle of wicker were one of the many traditions and ways of life lost in the ruins of what remained. Thousands of years later, the ruins holding carvings and scrolls depicting these old ways were found by a young girl. She started living in the ruins and helped people who got lost and stumbled upon her. Over the years, a family formed and the different people found themself bound to one of these ancient ways of life by the spirits of nature. Resparking the ancient traditions that were lost so long ago.
Execution
The Circle of the Wicker Druids build a massive effigy of either a person or multiple people who have caused harm throughout the year, adorning them in symbols of other bad events that happened over the past year. The Effigy is built in the middle of the sacred Standing Stone Circle before the wildfire druid summons their companion to light it on fire, burning away all of the negativity from the previous year and welcoming the positivity of the new year. While it burns, the druids will sing a song in druidic to the spirits of nature, honouring them for all they do for the world and renewing their promise of protecting the balance of nature, the best they can. After the fire has died, the druids from the Circle of Ashes will collect the ashes left by the effigy and use them to fertilize the ground to bring new life.
