The Tossing of The Coins

When Ulfgar and his compatriots slayed and scared off the goblins, they began to settle down, when they attempted to build more permanent home,s bad things kept happening. Ulfgar contacted a cleric friend of his and was told that meant a spirit has used that place as it's domain. The Cleric walked him through the ritual where he negotiated the terms of them living there. The spirit agreed that 2 copper pieces from each person would be payment for protection. The best place to put the money would be in a fountain as people would be less likely to take it out.

Every day at 3,6,9am,3,6,9 pm people will form a line at the fountain, they will state their name, parents will also name children and dependents who can't before tossing in the two copper pieces. If there are travelers in town, they must specify where in town they are staying before tossing coins.

Every person in this settlement attends the tossing of the coins, kids are encouraged to throw a coin every once in a while so the spirit remembers their name.
