Pulseroot Vigil wip
The Pulseroot vigil is an ancient tradition in druidic culture. It's said that when the earth beats beneath your feet, it will lead you to your destiny. The Pulseroot vigil summons a Druid in their sleep, luring them to an ancient ritual site containing a stone circle, each stone is carved with a rune that symbolizes a different Druid circle. When a druid is called, they are led to the middle of the circle where the magic pulses through the druid, cracking the ground and the stones, causing the runes to glow as nature's magic plants its roots into the druid, granting them theirsubclasss and visions of their possible future.
History
The Wild Harken era
Druidic tradition didn't always exist; long ago, the primal spirits roamed freely in all shapes and sizes, from large beasts to speaking rivers. The spirits surrounded those who lived in the area. These spirits sought out mortal beings who could hear them, those with an affinity towards wind, soil, and moonlight. When a spirit found a mortal they wished to teach, they would call to them within their dreams or through whispers carried through the breeze.
These mortals had no formal rites or training; the closest thing they had to a rite was following the call of nature until they found the origin of the call standing barefoot, entrusting their lives to the land to teach them what words could not communicate and not harm them. They named themselves "Wildlings " as they felt a special kinship with nature.
The first pulse
During an age of imbalance known as the shrivel scourge, a time when acres of land from all over began to wither and decay, with no clear cause for such devastation. Animals and people were losing food, becoming restless and violent as they grew thin. (insert NPC here) was awoken one night beneath the earth, rhythmic and slow like a struggling heartbeat. (insert Npc) Feeling the call, I was compelled to follow, leading them towards a ring of ancient boulders. Once (insert npc) reached the middle of the ring, the magic pulse strengthened, creating a rune in the middle of the stone that glowed green with the pulsating magic. From out of the rune came the (insert spirit name here) who used the rune to speak to (insert npc), teaching them how one can restore balance and mend nature using magic. After aiding in the downfall of the shrivel Scourge (insert npc) carved the rune they saw in the stone to preserve what the spirit taught them. This circle is known in druidic myth as The Temperate Stone Hear, the sacred site of the first Pulseroot Vigil.
