One More Anomaly - Regular Alien
Introduction
So this 'Marketplace' Battle Map we're on isn't anything special. It's mostly small, which means it's a very aggressive one. We're all close together and easy targets. As a Galactic Gladiator, you'll fight on this map regularly -
- wait, shut up. We're lucky. Did you hear that angry grumble? That means...
they're here.
Maybe you'll get to meet Udan, our very own Alien. The second and last Anomaly in The Dungeon.
... I wish you would stop making a show out of my presence, Kelita.
Damn, they know we're looking for them. Best to be cautious now. Udan's thing is being stealthy. They're a Hard Light Hologram, like us, but they're not a Gladiator. They might even be an AI being. They pop up in different places in the Dungeon, out of thin air! Sometimes they are present in the Battle Maps we fight on, like now.
There have even been times when they were sighted at different places in the Dungeon at once. That's why we suspect there might be more of them - copies or friends. But that has never been confirmed. I'd like to think there's a Udan clan out there.
Rest assured they're never in places where weapons are banned, like our dorms and the Mess Hall - phew. They've always got a weapon built into their body, you see. This one time, their left arm was a cannon!
Alternating Appearances
Udan is never exactly the same shape when they pop up. Sometimes, they look like a Human being, other times, they are vaguely shaped like a wolf. I can only remember one time that I found Udan really likeable. That was when they were a rather cute dinosaur-like creature with four arms and yellow eyes.
Do note that they're not a shapeshifter, though. They can't seem to choose what they'll be when they pop up somewhere. That's why we're always on our guard for them when we enter a Battle Map.
But did you know that I can speak when I'm shaped like a wolf?
Glitch
Oh, you're worried! Don't let Udan's stealth and and angry grumbling fool you though. They can actually be quite kind and helpful - if they like you that is. And I like to think they like me.
There's one thing though. Udan causes a glitch in the Battle Maps. When they're still present when the timer runs out, any victory rewards - like rankings, money and Lives - will be lost. That's why they're mostly seen as a common enemy to wipe out first. I suspect they cause this glitch because they don't require Lives to respawn each time like we do. The system can't handle the discrepancy.
Let's look -
Over there!
Lesson's over, newbie. I took care of the other Galactic Gladiators in this Battle Map. If you shoot me now, you win this round. Nice to meet you. I'm Udan, a regular here.
