The Veritian Rent

The Veritian Rent is a cursed sea that reeks of radiated Godsblood deep from within the crust of Hindria's earth. Its black waters are wild and unpredictable, an immortal maelstrom caged between the shores of Volksaar and The Severed Isles. Though the sea is stuck in its violent tantrums, the skies above are unperturbed, often a stormy sea roaring upwards to a calm sky above. This sea resides at the genesis of a cataclysmic event known as the Sundering. The sheer force of lands shifting caused the waters from the Ledrosian Sea and the Southern Ryllkren Ocean to flood in.

With an exposed Shard Vein running across the sea floor, unpredictable and violent waters crash tirelessly. Additionally, shard casting is also extremely difficult to control along the shores bordering the Veritian Rent. This is due to the open Shard Vein as well, with its overwhelming feedback. Due to the treacherous currents and Shard corrupted waters, life cannot be sustained within the Open Wounds borders. Those who have attempted to sail through have rarely returned, though it is uncertain if they fell to the raging waters, or the Shards corrupting their vessel into oblivion.
