SR-1: Oozes, Lies, and Alibis

Recent evidence has come to light regarding the incident at the De Orozco estate. The Nelevari caught a miscreant from the Tangles who they offered a chance at freedom if they revealed the identity and location of the Gray Spinner. Unfortunately, the Sagradian's investigation led them right to Thalix Wavewhisper's post at the The Wavewarden Society. A quick trip to the Sunsalt Castilla and following interrogation seemed to indicate a long stay for Thalix until De Orozco showed up. The whisky baron vouched for Thalix's actions on the day of the attack and his innocence, gaining him leave to attempt to clear his own name over the next few days.   The group retreated back to the De Orozco Estate to formulate a plan where they were introduced to a pair of weapon-strapped lasses now serving a newly minted, and somewhat unwanted, bodyguards.   Merave Amberrest and Tavara Ironblood had recently arrived in the city and were enquiring as to the location of an individual named "Lavender" to make a delivery. They claimed to be replacements for a lost shipment of Soulforged guards headed to the Estate; a race for which the De Orozco Estate had become a bit of an asylum. Bewildered by this arrival and worried about Thalix, De Orozco asked the martial maidens to assist in clearing Thalix's name and he would reach out to see about this "Lavender" on their behalf.   Calling on friends Cicero Hak Sor and Khiiral Ularan and bringing the ladies along, the five motley adventures met in a tavern: The Harvest Hall. Remembering from the original encounter with the creature at the well, Cicero Hak Sor produced the "plain" paper found in the ship at the dock that had started all this suspicion of Thalix. Fortuitously, Mer was equipped with a magical trinket capable of revealing illusions, and had recognized the paper for the hidden map it was. A flash and splash of arcane artistry and the map of the sewers was revealed, indicating a much more sophisticated plan than was accomplished by the slain Slough all those months ago.   Without further direction, the crew set off into the sewers to investigate the strange symbols. Within, strange oozes attacked. After clearing them out, it was clear something more nefarious was brewing in the sewers, and it could only be found deeper within...
