Stolen Skin

Stolen Skins are magical pelts that allow the wearer to transform into the pelt's original form when worn. These magical items are a recent creation tied to the dark magic of Verkon, The False Chimera.   Stolen Skins are often taken from people in a violent ritual that kills the subject and binds their tortured soul to the created item. The resulting pelt then functions as a Selkie pelt, but allows for transformation into the flayed subject. This transformation includes limited access to the flayed subject's skills, languages, memories, and ways of acting.   Stolen Skins are an excellent infiltration tool, as the transformation is difficult to detect and allows for even unskilled infiltrators to intuitively mimic the subject.    Stolen Skins can be constructed to more elaborate and potent ends, but these elaborations on the art are currently unknown to the God Squad.   The creation and use of Stolen Skins weakens the barrier between dreams and reality in a small way.   It seems that Stolen Skins are entirely created by a Selkie cult supported by Verkon, The False Chimera.
