Martyr's Ash
Martyr's Ash is what is left behind of a living creature that is drained of Life Energy. This often looks like ash or dust in small quantities and is often assumed to be just that. But ash and dust can be used by organic ecosystems. Martyr's Ash cannot.
This substance is a curious inorganic compound that is completely incompatible with any form of life - including Lithoid creatures like Prisms. Martyr's Ash mostly just takes up space and gets in the way, but in large quantities it becomes actively toxic. Blessings of the Martyr can protect against the effects of this toxicity. Even species normally immune to poison like Prisms are affected by prolonged exposure to the Ash.
