Hainish Elector Council
The Hainish Elector Council is a permanent council that represents the Eight Elector-Princes of the Kingdom of Hain. The Elector Council is a key part of the Hainish royal court and government, as the monarch requires the approval of the Elector Council to fully wield their authority as sovereign.
Each Elector family selects its own representative to sit on the Council in their name. This is usually a lesser member of that noble house, but the representative does not have to be actually from that family.
The Elector Council selects the generals to lead Hain's armies and approves the edicts issued by the Hainish Monarch. They also lead the Hainish Crown Diet when it is called.
The Elector Council typically physically follows the Monarch as part of their royal court. This means that they are usually in Ozaren, working with the courtiers and Rump Council of the Hainish Crown Diet. If the Elector Council follows the Monarch out of the capital, they often appoint an Elector-Delegate to represent them in the capital and Crown Diet.
