Airborne Rot Plague

The Airborne Rot Plague is a strain of the Rot Plague mutated by the Plague Engine in Kreniko. It began to appear in the city briefly before the Plague Dragon was destroyed by the God Squad. This successfully prevented the Airborne Rot Plague from stabilizing and being unleashed upon the world.   There is currently no known way of resurrecting this strain - it is likely gone for good.    If unleashed, this strain would have made the Rot Plague fully airborne. While direct and immediate exposure to sneezed saliva of an infected person can still infect someone in worst-case conditions, ordinary Rot Plague struggles to survive in the air or on surfaces and generally needs to grow to dangerous levels in water. So sneezing into somone's face or an open wound could still infect someone.   The Airborne strain would have dramatically increased the Plague's ability to infect via particulates and allowed for the plague to spread rapidly in enclosed or shared spaces. By continuously arranging itself to be pumped out by the victim's lungs and taking a new form that could better sustain itself outside of water, the Airborne Plague would easily decimate urban communities. It is unknown how many lives were saved by preventing this strain from manifesting.
