Adventer Saltsky
Adventer Saltsky is the old and accomplished Jellicle Cat leader of Heartstopper House, a Jellicle community in the Allseas Port and Oldpelt Districts of Halamahi.
Saltsky is a silver-grey cat with dense, water-resistant fur (a breed that would be considered a Chartreux cat in our world). They are well known by local residents of Halamahi both cat and humanoid for their iconic look out on the town: riding a Maradian Construct and wearing a fancy gown with a professorial square-cap.
Saltsky is also known as a cat who is not above interacting with humanoids. While they rarely deign to directly speak with non-cats now, they do use a network of intermediaries to conduct business around town which they use to enrich and supply the Heartstopper House. They are quite proud of how much wealth they bring to the House, and host a number of foreign cats as their personal guests.
Saltsky is not well-known as a business or political figure, but those who do know them associate them strongly with the Federalist Party. Saltsky's business connections have mostly been with Federalist-aligned clans, including big names like Clan Naimaka and Clan Danohel. It is unknown whether Saltsky has any particular ideological agreement with the Federalists, or whether this is purely a relationship of luck and self-interest.

Personal history
Saltsky was born in Halamahi to a group of cats from the Jellicle Loungerday House, which controls much of the dockyard space of Halamahi, to two Jellicles of very different social strata. They lived in the gaps of the House, moving between family that was rich and family that was quite poor. The rapid changes of life fanned a hunger inside them and a desire for security and strength that conflicted with the Loungerday's culture of performative lounging and contended chill. Saltsky ventured out into the world when they came of age to seek a greater purpose and to find a sense of self beyond the sacred islands. Their family supported them and the Loungerdays supplied their journey, hoping that Saltsky would one day return with magic to become one of their valued Conjurers.
Saltsky witnessed great horrors on their journey and experienced quite the shock at being regarded as a common animal in foreign lands. They fell on hard times, but learned valuable skills of combat and basic magic. Most importantly they spied on the human world and learned the arts of covert communication, eventually becoming a spy for hire abroad. They eventually returned to Halamahi, but enrolled themselves in Heartstopper House rather than Loungerday. They became a Spectacular, whose role as an officer was to serve as a communicator, negotiator, and business ambassador between the House and the humanoid world. They built political and financial connections to help fund the House's expansion and supplies, allowing for more food imports and more supplies and less mandatory scavenging.
Initially, Saltsky's involvement in Heartstopper was purely a matter of culture. They wanted a place where their ambitions would be recognized as valuable and desirable, but where they could also have fun and celebrate their return to the good life. Saltsky thrived in the work-hard play-hard culture of Heartstopper, and bit by bit their skeptical upbringing began to be eroded by Heartstopper's more intensely religious and spiritual worldview. They became enchanted by the Heartstopper's secret knowledge and teachings; by the time they were old enough to become an Elder, they were a zealous true believer. Their role in overhauling Heartstopper House's income and economic niche made them an easy choice for Adventer, especially now that they were a avid believer.
