K'hili
The K'hili language differs from many others in crucial ways which distinguish the culture as well the language. For instance, gender is not in any way distinguished. There are also thirteen pronouns, which specify between outsiders, elders, younger generations, and whether or not they come from the same island as the speaker.
Writing System
The letter c is never used, however "nr", "ns", "mn", and "ts" are common, as well as the letters w, g, h, and f.
Geographical Distribution
The language is mostly spoken in the Southern Archipelago. It is also spoken in the southernmost part of the Aelgari Empire, but less commonly.
Phonology
Emphasis is usually placed on the first or second vowel. In the written language, there is a marker for the emphasis of a word, but K'hili is rarely written. It is an almost exclusively spoken language.
Morphology
The words in this language can very easily be converted from one type to another. Here are some simple rules that usually hold true.
- NOUN: pu+non-noun
- ADJECTIVE: hi+non-adjective
- VERB: ni+non-verb
- PLURAL: word+am
- POSSESSIVE: word+im
