Forest Sprites
Humanoid spirits with thin frames and realistic animal masks (that they do not, and can not remove). They are, in part, tricksters and use tactics to protect the wilds, and prevent excessive encroachment of mortal civilization. They also assist in hiding the fae pools, by leading people astray and making them uneasy.
None of them can speak, but they all use a sign language. If they are trying to communicate with those that don't understand them, they switch to charades. Despite the lack of voices, they are very, very expressive.
They can seemingly disappear and appear at will (and fly/float), which is a branch of wind magic, but they are able to use all elements without issue. They are just limited in power; if there is a situation that they cannot handle, they alert the fae (or jensò, but sprites prefer to commune with their creators, and find interacting with jensò very intimidating).

Naming Traditions
They each have true names, given by Fae Deity . These, similar to fae names, are not to be shared. Sprites are usually addressed as the animal on their mask, and there is no confusion between sprites as each sprite has a unique animal mask. No two sprites have the same animal.
