Definitions and Clarification
Most myths and legends of the Green Sea assume the reader has cultural context for certain phrases and signifiers. They also assume the reader has heard the previous parts and has an understanding of the overarching story. This is why variations can start disputes as they may change someone's overall perception of the myth.
In the Green Sea terminology is different for deities and other myths. Understand that the terms used are often translations to how we would refer to these beings as we see them. The difference between good and evil immortal beings is somewhat blurry. In fact, where Gods and Demons are concerned, they are the same class of being, an immortal. They sometimes even switch sides. Gods are beings that use their divinity in service of the natural order. Demons use their divinity in service of themselves. These beings will refer to each other in such familiar terms as brother, sister, sibling, kin, or cousin as they have no context for parentage like mortals.
Example being, as the Hooved One dies, they whispered to their new siblings 'welcome'. Another curious instance is how the God King Phileiceous is in fact considered a demon, but becomes the God King of the Giants and considers himself their brother.
The stranger occurance of terms is present in Ulti's title, the Demon Font. It is unclear whether Ulti made demons, ruled them, or converted gods. More evidence can be found in Ulti's death. Devils spring up from Ulti's humors. This may hint at some infernal force or infection at play. That or it implies that Ulti may have possibly possessed the ability to actually create immortal beings, which may mean Ulti is the original God. However, you see that the Hooved One also creates immortal beings in death, and those beings create all the hooved animals that run the Green Sea.
These examples only come from one myth cycle found in the Green Sea, however. This cycle is known as the Deific Era Mythos, and it is most popular with the Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Giants. The northern barbarians teach the Arrangement of Elements. The Orcs tell of the Migration. It is important to note that all of these myths exist in the history of the Green Sea, but the details can get fuzzy.
