Architecture

GROUND LEVEL (THE TOP DECK / PUBLIC FLOOR)

This level sits at street height. The ship’s deck has been reinforced and roofed with timber-and-sailcloth canopies.

1. Main Entrance Ramp

  • A gently sloped wooden gangplank leads up from the street.
  • Two lanterns shaped like glass sea-shells hang above.
  • Usually guarded by 2 Bouncers (stat blocks already provided).

2. Reception & Coat Counter

  • A small desk fashioned from a ship’s wheel.
  • A receptionist greets guests, takes payments, and explains house rules.
  • Behind her stands a locked cabinet for coats, cloaks, and stored weapons.

3. The Siren’s Lounge (Main Bar Hall)

  • Large open hall built on the main deck, now enclosed by walls and an arched timber roof.
  • One massive central bar, stretched along the starboard side.
  • 12–16 round tables, each lit by blue bioluminescent lanterns.
  • Stage for performances at the bow with curtains of deep violet silk.
  • The house bard or a rotating performer plays here.
  • Patrons mingle, drink, flirt, and hire courtesans from this room.

4. The Driftwood Booths

  • Six semi-private alcoves each separated by rope curtains.
  • Used for conversation, light entertainment, or pre-booking a courtesan.
  • Staff frequently passes through with trays of drinks.

5. The Bouncer’s Station

  • A curtained-off corner where 2–3 bouncers rest between patrols.
  • Contains a chest with restraining ropes, manacles, and a first-aid kit.

6. Stairs Down to the Lower Deck

  • Wooden stairs near the stern.
  • A bouncer is always posted here to prevent unauthorized movement.

LOWER DECK (THE PRIVATE SUITES LEVEL)

Former crew quarters converted into luxurious chambers. Sound-dampened walls. Incense and seawater perfumes drift faintly.

1. Central Hallway

  • A long, low-ceilinged corridor running bow to stern.
  • Polished wooden floor, lined with lanterns shaped like jellyfish.

2. The Coral Suite (Selathiel’s Personal Chamber)

  • Opulent and richly decorated.
  • Circular canopy bed, velvet curtains, shelves of perfumes, a small writing desk.
  • A secret safe hidden beneath the floorboards (requires DC 18 Investigation).
  • This is where Selathiel Vaerinth receives high-profile or trusted clients.

3. The Pearl Room

  • Soft white fabrics, pearlescent décor.
  • Popular with noble visitors.

4. The Siren’s Alcove

  • Blue tones, a water fountain trickling in one corner.
  • Common room for conversations or fantasy roleplay involving water themes.

5. The Crimson Cabin

  • Red lanterns, chaise lounges, more daring décor.
  • Used for more adventurous or “taboo” services.

6. The Twin Cabins

  • Two smaller rooms used for shorter sessions or for lower-tier courtesans.
  • Curtains instead of full doors, though sound-muffled.

7. Staff Quarters (End of Hall)

  • 4 small rooms where employees rest during long shifts.
  • Basic but safe and comfortable.

8. Laundry & Bathing Room

  • Two soaking tubs filled with warmed seawater.
  • Towels, oils, and soaps stored here.

9. Stairs Down to the Bilge Level

  • Locked unless staff or maintenance is needed.

BILGE LEVEL (SERVICES, STORAGE, SECRET AREAS)

Dim, damp, and rarely visited by guests except during emergencies or special searches.

1. Storage Room

  • Wine barrels, ale, imported spirits.
  • Crates of fresh linens and scented candles.

2. Kitchen & Preparation Space

  • Small but efficient galley from the original ship.
  • Used for light meals, fruits, seafood trays, and drink garnishes.

3. Worker & Security Station

  • A table, two stools, weapons rack.
  • Used by off-duty bouncers, cleaners, and maintenance workers.

4. The Hidden Locker

  • A secret room accessed behind a sliding crate compartment.
  • Selathiel keeps certain personal items:
  • Letters from her past,
  • Old jewelry,
  • A journal with references to the Elder Crown,
  • A dagger of sentimental value.

5. Water Access Hatch

  • Reinforced hatch that leads down to the dry dock’s lower basin.
  • Sometimes used to smuggle people or items discreetly into/out of the establishment.
