Personal history

Aelrindia Vaeloria was born in the year 1162, long before her parent became the famed Mirror-Blood merchant known as Lady Seryndre Vaeloria-Kairos. At the time of Aelrindia’s conception and birth, her parent still lived under the identity Kaelion Vaeloria—a wandering seer and pleasure-courtesan drifting between elven courts and the shadow markets of the Dawn Coast.

A Child of Unlikely Circumstances

Aelrindia’s mother was a reclusive High Elven archivist named Laurelinne Thalyss, a scholar of lunar prophecy. She encountered Kaelion during his brief tenure in the Moon Court’s outer sanctum—where Kaelion had been invited to serve as a diplomatic intermediary due to his then-modest but unusual talents in reading desire and fate.

Their connection was brief but profound. Kaelion’s androgynous beauty, intuitive nature, and strange fey-shadow resonance deeply fascinated Laurelinne. Kaelion, in turn, saw in her a gentleness and clarity that the world rarely offered him.

Though never romantically bonded, they shared a night during a Moon Court celebration—one honoring the Ascendant Night, when the Silver Path aligns with the Shadar Stars.

Aelrindia was conceived that night.

Childhood in Two Worlds

Aelrindia spent her early years moving between:

  • the Vaeloria estate overlooking the moonlit harbors of Fylfnoris,
  • and the Moon Court enclaves deep within the fey-touched forest of Virenyll.

Kaelion—though young, conflicted, and often distant—still ensured she received both mortal and fey education. His intuition, even then, sensed she was destined for a path far different from his own.

When Aelrindia was nineteen (in 1181), Kaelion formally left behind his former identity, beginning the decades-long journey of magical transition that would culminate in Seryndre Vaeloria-Kairos, one of the most radiant and androgynous Mirror-Bloods in the known world.

Aelrindia accepted the change without hesitation.

To her, the shift was not a loss of a father but the unveiling of a deeper truth—one she had sensed all along.

She continued to call Seryndre “mother” in private, out of respect for Seryndre’s rebirth, though she kept Vaeloria proudly as her maiden name to honor her bloodline.

Calling of the Moon Court

Aelrindia began formal training with the Priestesses of the Moon Court at age 50 (in 1212), after a vision received during an eclipse:

“You were born under one parent becoming two—
reflect both as the moon reflects all.”

Her Mirror-Elf heritage mingled strongly with the Moon Court’s lunar magic, giving her:

  • heightened prophetic dreams
  • emotional resonance tied to moon cycles
  • natural affinity for reflective and divination rites

She rose steadily in the hierarchy, becoming a Moon-Seer by 1240 and a full Priestess of the Silver Veil by 1258.

Relationship With Seryndre

Though Aelrindia no longer lives in Fylfnoris, she visits her mother often. Their relationship is unusually close for elves, built on:

  • shared liminality,
  • mutual understanding of dual forms,
  • and the unbreakable loyalty of blood.

Aelrindia respects Seryndre not for the power she holds on the Merchant Council, but for the courage it took to embrace her true nature in a city ruled by ambition and scrutiny.

Current Age (in 1267)

  • Aelrindia was born in 1162.
  • The current year is 1267.

Aelrindia is 105 years old—still quite young for an elf, not even halfway to full emotional maturity, which makes her rise in the Moon Court all the more remarkable.
