Session 7 - "He Tampered in God's Domain"

The Anteater Cohort recover as they've encountered their first real antagonist against Magaambya. Doubts arise now amongst the team as to who, or what would do this...We choose our branches, later, some of our members have more dreams.

We return to the Ant Eater cohort upon the stage of our last combat. Many individuals appear with weapons at the ready to continue to secure the Magaambya. Teacher Ot and Teacher Zuma are speaking with the surviving Pugwampi to secure information.

Chizire approaches the Ant Eater Cohort to express gladness that the group was there to help Mariama, and expresses his promise to make sure no one gets hurt in the spire dormitory again.

Esi appears very distraught and expresses disatisfaction with "an individual" letting their guard down by focusing on some pugwampis in a storage closet.

"the ghost will come, and it will be magnificent" We will crawl on the ground like you do two us….than we will see which one of us is in a cage. He speaks through the dark, and floats through the earth. Resplendant is he. Speaker for what is buried, and crawls, and is thrown away. He was deep and away from here. He took the pugwampi and others there and back up afterward.

Kurshkin's monologue about their master is shared in fear, and she is attempting to goad the party into harming her.

Eshe asks why the pugwampi trusts the ghost? "He is the only one that knows what it is like to be thrown away" "You will know the same soon"

Teacher Ot is asked if the Magaambya has enemies, and reports that there not any (at least that would attack ) and asks us all if we have any enemies. Eshe reports none, and the rest of the party does not speak up. Theacher Ot, Ulawa, and Zuma discuss where to hold the pugwampi and decide on the Black Heron Library. Teacher Takenhot and Mafika are introduced under somber tone and Teacher Mafika escorts the Ant Eater cohort back to the dorm.

En route, Adira bolsters the ant eater cohort and expresses that we have to have each other's backs, and there is concern if we are the source of the problem. Mariama chimes in to express that the beings that attacked made a decision and that it is no one's fault.

Upon arrival to the dorm Chizire and Okoro begin to ward the dormitory with the fey bell spell that had been completed by the Ant Eater Cohort the days prior. Adira creates plans to welcome space for the dorm members PCs and NPCs to hold space and unpack the events as of late.

Eshe excuses themselves to reconnect with their gods and self soothe some stress and pain.

Adira prepares their room for the meeting.

Rubina spends time with Laura processing the significance of what happens if Rubina dies.

Nymeria attempts to journal in the rain , until Eshe meets them outside to shield them from the rain. Nymeria is shedding tears unknowingly,, and Eshe begins to ask what has happened to Nymeria in broad strokes. They share a moment of knowing wether or not they are in a dream. Nymeria expressing fear that they are the cause for the issues with Mariama, but is also unsure of this thought. Eshe proceeds to try and glimpse Nymeria's soul. Eshe shares their vision of a hallway filled with picture frames, with the words love, knowledge, and life. Bones appearing everywhere. Feeling something part dream, part memory, maybe something outside of it entirely. Their experience on the jungle floor and in pain. Nymeria expresses feeling something similar, and that their dreams/visions are varied and often fleeting. Expressing that their recent dream seems to be sticking with Nymeria more so than the others have.

Orvin takes some time to assist with the barrier being erected around the dormitory before rejoining the rest of the dorm members.

Within Adira's room, like sardines. The students discuss the past threats of the Magaambya and what enemies may be trying to harm the school. The other students express that perhaps the small threats were just able to sneak under the gate so to speak. Adira proceeds to ask the students if there are any relevant enemies. Adira expresses the importance of having one another's backs. Making sure that we keep an eye out for one another. Invite someone in and bridge the gap.

The spire dorm members meet together and adjourn the first meeting of the knights of the broom closet. and break for the night. Students scatter to various projects and tasks to finish the night.

Jump cut to three months passing!

We return learning that Kurshkin has been held captive and treated with respect after the fight. Classes begin, and the cohort begins to spend more time together. In the blink of an eye, the tail end of fall has arrived.

The party takes their turns studying, and earning income.

Eshe has time with Chizire where he opens up about another individual stepping in to explain that he isn't stupid. That he was having trouble reading, and that he didn't know anything. Internalizing this pain and believing it to be true. Deciding to wear it like armor, until someone comes forward and explains that he is dyslexic. Learning from a tutor that he isn't stupid, and is in fact incredibly smart. Hard habit to break, but still pushing to be more.

Orvin finds the individual named Nyota who is tied to the ArcaniCo company. After some discussion and utilization of magic, Nyota expresses interest in recommending Orvin to the hiring process. the Magistrate Mayor Asanda appears to take Orvin's resume and begins to discuss the down sides and short comings of the Magaambya. Orvin agreed that these things are shameful, and that ArcaniCo may need to be there to pick up the pieces after whatever happens to the school. Orvin leaves the space and proceeds to punsh a wall in a quiet part of town. Blood pooling at his feet with tears and sweat pouring down his face. Orvin cleans himself up, brings out the smile and walks back into Nantambu.

Eshe and Rubina meet up and discuss Rubina's research into the egg that has permeated her mind. Laura is an orphan as well unfortunately. On a field trip Rubina tells a story of a student who led others deeper into the jungle, and a mudslide occurs. Laura's parents dying within the mudslide. Rubina acting as teacher to this girl, could not find the student. Not knowing if this child was real or if she was made up in some way.

Rubina takes steps to ask Eshe about their faith and overall loyalty to their deities. Rubina asks about loyalties wavering at all. An open and honest conversation on these topics and the sharing of God's responding to them, and working to spread and explore their teachings. Rubina instructed to seek an egg, and acquire it. Not knowing for what purpose or what it could be used for. Unknowing if it is even real, and wondering how this plays into her worship of Mother Jaguar. Eshe and Rubina taking time to discuss the eggs more, and the temptation that Rubina feels around this issue. Discussing the Vessicant Egg, Eshe notices that their bugs are chittering at the sight of this word.

Somewhere else, something rushes through the grass. A stick snaps, and it begins to float into the air. An image of a cat chases after it. Noxolo is playing fetch with a spectral cat! Nymeria is watching from the shadows. As Eshe and Rubina are speaking, as the scarabs chitter a breeze picks up. A smell on the wind, the smell of death and rot. Coming from behind, and incredibly close. Nymeira has fear and is hesitant to look back, and forces themself to look forward. "We" see behind them. Shimmering, the version of Nymeria from the dream, and slowly rotting with pieces falling off to the floor. Feeling breath on their shoulder, reeking. A deep growl, and the scarabs stop chittering all at once.
