Lord
Qualifications
In order to become a Lord, the person in question must know someone in the royal family, or a member from another Lord's family. Doing so makes them a Noble. To become a Lord, the now Noble must purchase a piece of land from the King, though if their land is large enough, a Noble could purchase a plot of land from another Lord, though most don't due to how small of a plot of land a Lord actually owns.
Appointment
A Lord is considered a Lord once they own a large plot of land for themselves. They must also run at least a small hamlet in their land. The rule does not need to be direct.
Duties
A Lord is responsible over the people who live in his Land. A Lord must keep their people safe using guards and mercenaries as a form of police. Lords are also responsible for what laws must be followed on his land.
Responsibilities
Lords have to keep a good standing with the royal family in order to stay a Lord. They must always look regal and respectful to all the important people. Likewise, Lords must teach their children manners, as being seen with ill mannered kids is seen as a failure of the lord.
Benefits
All Lords have some political power, and are always rich.
Accoutrements & Equipment
All Lords have a uniform, which is used to show their status in society. Lords also get an honorary item. The item is suppose to represent something about the land. Such items include a golden statue of a wheel of cheese, a Vial of water with shredded diamonds floating in it, or a Platinum Pickaxe.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
A Lord can be removed if he falls out of favor with the King. It doesn't matter how a Lord becomes a Lord, a King that does not like him will have his land revoked from him. A Lord can also lose his status by failing to protect his people. If everyone in a Lord's' land dies, he is seen as unfit to lead, and has his status revoked.
