Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Fire Genasi typically have sharp features. Their hair often looks like it is not affected by Gravity, often standing up and flowing like fire. Water Genasi have round features. Water Genasi are always wet, even when in a desert, small beads of water can be found on their skin. Air Genasi have Aristocratic Features. Air Genasi are constantly surrounded by a light gust of wind, often flowing their hair and jousting their clothes. Earth Genasi have heavy features. Earth Genasi often have fissures in their skin, and while it doesn't go any farther than skin level, they are very noticble.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Genasi are sparse and randomly placed. There is not one continent or country that has dramatically more or less than others.
Average Intelligence
Most Genasi are comparable to the average human in intelligence, though fire Genasi are often more intelligent than the average human.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
All Genasi are able to cast spells related to their Elements. Earth Genasi can use the ground as a cover to hide, Air Genasi can become lighter than air and float, Water Genasi can command small ammounts of water, and Fire Genasi can control nearby fire. Fire Genasi can also see up to 60 feet in darkness, though only in shades of red.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Genasi use the naming conventions of the people among whom they were raised. They might later assume distinctive names to capture their heritage, such as Flame, Ember, Wave, or Onyx.
Beauty Ideals
Genasi share similar Ideals to their original race.
Gender Ideals
Genasi don't tend to share Gender Ideals of the culture they grow up in.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
All Genasi can speak Primordial. Each one has their own version of primordial, Aquan, Auran, Ignan, and Terran. Being able to speak any of these languages will allow one to speak all of these languages, but they must learn how to write in the other languages. The 4 languages of Primordial all share the same script, but the letters in each script are changed, so a sentence in Aquan will look like complete Gibberish in Ignan, Terran, and Auran.
Common Etiquette Rules
Genasi Greetings and Goodbyes depend entirely on the type of Genasi. It goes as follows:
Air Genasi greetings depend on their emotional state. Happy Genasi are often mellow, and their greetings reflect this through grabbing the arm of the person they're greeting, pulling them in for a Man hug, and smiling while saying their hellos. Sad Genasi are often dreary, and their greetings reflect this through a simple handshake while saying their hellos. Angry Genasi are often Volatile, and their greetings reflect this because they simply do not go through a greeting, instead often immediately going into conversation. Air Genasi Goodbyes are often the same as their Hellos, with exceptions to sad Genasi, who usually do a man-hug.
Earth Genasi greetings are very calculating and slow. They begin by reaching out and grabbing the other creature's hand. Something to note is that throughout the entire greeting is that the Genasi will never break eye contact. If they believe the person they speak to is trustworthy, they use their other hand to grab the backside of the other creatures hand, and give a warm smile. If they do not know if the person they speak to is trustworthy, they often grab the other humanoids hand and shake them, staying stoic and strong to show that they are not to be tricked. If they know for a fact that the person they speak to is untrustworthy, the Genasi clench their hand into a fist, and put it in the other creature's hand. This shows that they aren't trusted enough to be shown even an ounce of weakness, as Earth Genasi Knuckles are often very hard, often being described to feel like iron. Goodbyes also depend on trustworthiness. Trustworthy folk often receive a grab on the shoulder as a goodbye, Neutral folk often receive another firm handshake, and untrustworthy people receive a handwave.
Fire Genasi Greetings and Goobyes are completely random. Some examples of Fire Genasi greetings include a high-five, a handshake, a shoulder-touch, a headbut, or an elbow to elbow.
History
The First Genasi appeared in 99wr, when a Djinni would grant a human the wish of a powerful offspring. This would create the Air Genasi, the very first of it's kind. The first Earth Genasi came somewhat soon after, when a Dao fell in love with a Human in 104wr. The Dao gave birth to the Earth Genasi. The First Fire and Water Genasi happened in the same year, 110wr. The Water Genasi was born when a Marid had wedded a Water Elf, giving birth to the first Water Genasi. The First Fire Genasi was born when an Efreeti sought a way to enslave humans, elves, and the like. Since they lived in the elemental plane of fire, most mortals couldn't be on the plane for any longer than 7 days, else their skin melts off their bones. So, using Efreeti magic, the first Fire Genasi was born.
