To spread Fear in the hearts of masses so they can create muses for the Nightmare Painter.

Mythology & Lore
It is believed that those who worship the Nightmare painter will join him in death, helping him paint the Nightmares. This is only half true, They will join him in death, but they won't help in his painting, rather they will be the ones tending to his art gallery.
Divine Origins
This cult started when the Nightmare Painter gave someone one of his painting in exchange for his worship. This would spiral until eventually it became massive.
Tenets of Faith
The Muse: Cause fear in the heart of mortals so that your God can continue his work.
Ethics
Fear, not Murder: The Nightmare Painter cannot paint Nightmares of dead people, and Celestial/Fiendish Nightmares aren't as interesting as Mortal Nightmares, so killing people is against the church's ethics.
Worship
Each section of the Cult is given a painting of one of the Cult's leaders. Spreading fear and keeping the Painting intact is all that is needed to be considered worship. If the painting is destroyed or besmirched, the cult has failed their god, and lose any magical powers and artifacts they had.
Priesthood
Most priests are painters and artists who tend to make disturbing paintings, such as their own nightmares.
Granted Divine Powers
Most clerics of this faith gain the powers of Clerics of either Trickery or Life, Trickery being using deceit to keep fear up, such as spreading rumors of a grand and evil thing being nearby, and Life to prolong the Nightmares.
Political Influence & Intrigue
While the cult does not have much in terms of political power, some famous painters and even a few Nobles worship him in secret, which does have some effects in the Government.
