A year after formation, someone new has proven themselves worthy to join the team!

Sophia stood at the end of the lawn of the mansion. They really live there, huh, she thought to herself. The place was huge, and she found it surprising that only three people lived there. That got her wondering; why haven't they accepted anyone new into their team, yet? They've been on the hero scene for over a year by this point, and have certainly made a name for themselves already in Arkhall. Surely they have had plenty of people audition to be apart of the team.   Maybe they're just very picky, she thought. As they should be.   She sighed, and let her ego take over. It was the only way she was going to get through this.   She walked up to the door, and pounded hard. She waited for a few seconds, and after not hearing anything, pounded hard on the door again. She was a little impatient.   Suddenly, the door swung open, and she saw a confused looking ginger-haired man.   "Um, hello?" he asked. She recognized him as Jaxson Greaves, the co-leader of the Divine Guardians. Perfect, she was meeting with someone who had some kind of power in the group.   "I'm here to become apart of your team," she said, as if it was just simple. They stood there for a moment just looking at each other, Jaxson growing ever more confused.   "Uh, you have to audition if you want to become apart of the team, we don't just accept anyone. We have a form online if you want to fill that out-"   "Here's the thing," she interrupted, "I'm not just anyone. I'm Sophia Noel. One of the smartest people of our generation. Graduated with a PhD and and Bachelors in four years. Have created some of the greatest inventions of our time," she rambled on, sounding a bit cocky. She didn't like to act like this all the time, but she had the right to be proud of what she has accomplished.   Jaxson just stared at her. She realized he never heard of her.   "You... You can add all your... achievements into your application form online..." Jaxson said, not knowing how to handle this situation. He never had someone show up at their door so insistent like this; he was surprised it hadn't happened sooner actually.   "That form would be too long if that's the case, you would simply never reach the end of it," she bragged. An idea popped into her head. "Let me prove myself to you right now, and you will beg me to join your team."   "Uh, how?" he asked, getting a little curious, even if he was uncomfortable.   "Wait here, I will gather my supplies. It might take a while," she said, holding a finger up to motion for him to wait. She suddenly walked off down the walkway, and Jaxson just stood at the door, even more confused. What was happening? What was she about to do??   It was about an hour before he heard noises coming from the front lawn. Curious, he walked outside to investigate, and found Sophia surrounded by what looked like junk, bringing even more junk into the yard.   "H-Hey! What are you doing?!" he shouted, caught off guard by the pure amount of stuff that was suddenly on their perfect grass.   "I'm proving myself, duh," she said as she laid down another piece of junk on the ground. Jaxson winced at the sound of the object falling. "Give me a few hours, and I will build something amazing for you."   Jaxson looked at her. This woman was crazy, that was for certain. But his curiosity was starting to override his confusion and apprehension, so he just stood there instead of trying to argue with her.   "You better be done in a few hours, and whatever this better be worth it," he said simply, and without looking at him, she gave him a thumbs up. He sighed, and walked back into the house.   As he walked back in, he saw Evening looking out the window.   "Who is that and what are they doing?" she asked, obviously confused.   "Someone who apparently is trying out for the team without filling out anything. She said that she's gonna build something 'amazing,'" he added air quotes to his words. "Apparently she's like a super genius or something. She's very confusing."   "Hmm. How long is this going to take?" she questioned, still looking out the window.   "She said a few hours," he answered. Evening stood there for a moment.   "If she's still there at 5, get her escorted off the property," she said, and started walking towards the stairs.   "A super genius, huh?" he heard her mumble under her breath as she walked past him.   Jaxson tried not to think about what was going on, but with the constant sounds outside, it was hard not to be curious.   After a few hours, suddenly all the sounds stopped. There was then a knock at the door. He went to go answer it, and he could feel Evening watching somewhere behind him. As he expected, Sophia was standing there, covered in grime and grease.   "It's all done! Told you it would only be a few hours," she said proudly, and motioned for him to follow her. Jaxson looked behind him to Evening, who only shrugged. They followed her outside, and his mouth hung open at what he saw.   It looked like some kind of giant super computer. It had multiple monitors, all of which were filled with what looked like data. It was all too technical for him.   "It's a security system for this mansion. I realized just by looking at the outside of this building that you just have a very basic security system installed," she explained, and starting typing away on one of the keyboards. Jaxson looked around, and saw a few cables attached to the outside of the house from the large device. "Anyone with above average intelligence could hack into your system, and your safety would be compromised. So I built you something better. Can definitely be improved upon, but this is what I was able to come up with, considering my limited resources and time."   "How does it protect us better than our current system?" Evening asked, seeming doubtful.   "Here, step in front of this sensor," Sophia motioned towards a weird looking object sitting on the desk of the contraption. "I would attach a better looking version of this sensor to the front door to scan whoever approaches, and probably a smaller version to each window in case of a break in."   Evening hesitantly approached the sensor. She didn't feel anything, but immediately a few of the monitors started flashing.   "EVELYN HEWITT. AGE 22. CURRENT LEADER OF THE DIVINE GUARDIANS." A voice came from the computer, and her face immediately went red with her full name being said out loud. Sophia noticed this and rushed to turn the volume down.   Jaxson hesitantly approached as the computer kept listing off details about Evening, before Sophia eventually shut it off.   "The system just has to scan the person and will know exactly who they are, so we can easily track down whoever has tried to threaten us. That is, if the defense mechanism that I added into this doesn't take care of them first."   "Defense mechanism?" Jaxson asked. Sophia took a pen off the desk, and threw it at the computer. Instantly, a red beam shot at the pen, disintegrating it. She looked at the two for approval, but was shocked to see that their faces were pale.   "I'll, uh, add in non lethal measures as well. There will be levels to the defense mechanism depending on the severity of the threat," she explained, and she saw Jaxson's shoulders ease up a little. She looked over at Evening, who still looked threatened.   "If you allow me into the team and give me the resources I need, I can improve this tenfold, and make other inventions to benefit you. I can even fight if needed, I have quite a few inventions that I have used against villains in the past," Sophia tried to continue, realizing that things weren't going as well as she thought. Both of the leaders looked lost in thought.   "So, I assume that you're a Hellian with some sort of... super genius ability?" Jaxson questioned carefully, still not sure of what to make of the situation.   "That is correct. Both me and my sister were born with super genius brains," she said, and then stopped when she realized what she just said. Evening finally looked at her.   "Sister?" she asked. Sophia gulped.   "Y-yeah... My twin sister, Olivia. She's the reason why I want this so bad," she said softly, and Jaxson tilted his head in confusion, noticing the shift in her demeanor.   "Why? Did something bad happen to her, or something?" he asked curiously. Sophia shook her head.   "No. She's the bad thing that happened," she stated simply, and at the confused looks from the two in front of her, she continued. "We're the classic case of good twin, evil twin. She has only caused chaos her entire life, using her smarts for destruction. We just recently graduated from university, and now she's working for Zander as his main assistant."   "Zander?" Evening questioned, shocked. "We're talking about the same Zander here, right?"   "Yes. That's why you need me. I know the truth about him, just like you three. And now with a super genius at his side, you're at risk. I personally think I'm smarter than her cause I'm not blinded by insanity like she is, so I can counter everything she throws at you," Sophia explained. She looked Evening in the eyes. "Please let me help you. You're my only shot at taking her down, and you need me."   Evening stared back at her, before glancing over at Jaxson. He looked a little scared, but she could tell he was trying to hide it. If Sophia was telling the truth...   "Come with me. We'll talk more in my office."
