A new person tries out for the team just by simply walking up to the house - once again - but the ability he possess in unheard of, allowing him immediate acceptance into the team. Well, not immediate on his end.
Hayden stood at the end of the walkway up to the front of the mansion. He heard through some friends that the newest member of the Divine Guardians had simply just walked up and auditioned, so he was going to try his luck and do it the same way. Except, ever since then, they've had issues with people simply walking up and doing that exact same thing, constantly bothering them. So now they have a bunch of fences and high bushes surrounding the property. He also heard about their high tech security system that basically stops most people in their tracks when they try to approach for things like this. He was going to try, anyways. He didn't want to fill out some form to prove that he was worth being apart of this team, especially when no one has ever been accepted through the forms. He was going to do things his way. He decided to walk around the perimeter of the house, noticing how his hairs stood on end when he got too close to the front door. It was his instinct kicking in, letting him know that was probably a bad idea. He was amazed by the height of the bushes in the backyard, as they were a few inches taller than him. How did they even manage to grow that high? He heard humming, and decided to peek through the bushes. There wouldn't be any boobytraps in foliage, right? He managed to move enough leaves to see into the large backyard, and the giant pool caught his eyes first. His eyes scanned what he could see, before they landed on a male kneeling in the grass among some flowers. "Okay, I just got to fence you all off so the lawn guys wont touch you. I think I might have to buy some, though," he talked to himself. His back was turned to Hayden, but he recognized the man to be Jaxson, the co-leader of the team. Probably the best person to talk to about this kind of thing. He pushed through the bushes, ignoring the scrapes that the twigs left on his arms. Him moving through the bushes was loud enough to get Jaxson's attention, who turned around to see a large, muscular man emerging. This obviously sent Jaxson into fight or flight mode. "Hey! Who are you?! What do you think you're doing?!" he shouted as he quickly stood up. He analyzed his surroundings. He didn't see much that he could use his telekinesis on, but he still had his rocks in his pocket, so he could retreat quickly into the house if needed to get reinforcements. Hayden quickly realized how bad this looked. "I- uh-" he stumbled over his words, not realizing just how unprepared he was. "M-My name is Hayden Jones, I want to be apart of the Divine Guardians..." "Dude, there's a form online. Fill it out. Don't trespass on our property, that's just creepy," Jaxson said, his shoulders easing up a bit as he realized this random man meant no harm. His guard was still up, however. "But... no one gets accepted from the form..." Hayden stuttered, already seeming defeated. "It's cause we're picky, just fill it out. And get off the property before I have to call the police," Jaxson retaliated, and stared Hayden down. Realizing that he had failed, he retreated back into the bushes and headed back home. He felt defeated. That was his one chance. He sighed as he threw the contents of his pockets onto his kitchen counter. What was he going to do now? He completely blew it. He looked around his dingy apartment, wondering how it managed to get to this point. He looked out his balcony window, only seeing the back of the building that was behind his apartment building. Suddenly, while looking out, he got an idea. It may not work, but there was only one way to find out. He set his phone down on the counter, the last thing he was holding, and took a step back. The sliding glass door was already open, as he had forgotten to close it before he left. He took a deep breath in. This was never easy. He immediately took off into a full sprint towards his balcony, jumping once he reached the railing. Down he went, 10 stories down. ......... Jaxson's shoulders eased up a bit as he realized this random man meant no harm. His guard was still up, however. "Dude, there's a form online. Fill it out. Don't trespass on our property, that's just creepy." Jaxson looked confused for a second. That's literally what he was about to say, word for word, with the same tone of voice. Why did it come from the man in front of him? "That's what you were about to say, right?" Hayden asked. Jaxson just looked at him, a bit bewildered. "Y-yeah, but it's the truth! The form is the only way we accept applications, Sophia was just a one time exception that we're not going to replicate," he explained, but he couldn't shake off the stare that this man was giving him. He seemed to be really listening to what Jaxson was saying. "Alright, I'll do the form," Hayden suddenly said, and left back through the bushes. Jaxson just stood there, completely confused by what just happened. Back home, Hayden threw all his items onto the kitchen counter again. The sliding glass door was still open. He sighed. This was going to take a bit, but it was going to be worth it. He knew it. He immediately took off into a full sprint towards his balcony, jumping once he reached the railing. Again, the exact same words he was about to say were said by the man in front of him instead. Was he a mind reader or something? This was getting weird. "That's also what you were about to say, wasn't it?" "How are you doing that?" Jaxson asked, eyeing the man up and down. Suddenly he was on edge again. "That's kind of creepy, man." Hayden only smiled. "Trust me, its the opposite of creepy." Suddenly, he retreated back into the bushes, leaving Jaxson just standing there, confused. What just happened? Back home, Hayden threw all his items onto the kitchen counter once again. It was starting to work. Just do this a few more time, and Jaxson should believe him. He looked at his sliding glass door, which was still open. He immediately took off into a full sprint towards his balcony, jumping once he reached the railing. "After you say that, I say 'Trust me, it's the opposite of creepy.' And then you say..." Hayden led off, motioning for Jaxson to continue the conversation. Jaxson hesitated for a moment, thinking about his words carefully. "What do you mean by that?" Jaxson said, Hayden saying it the same exact time as him. How was this happening? "Then I say, 'It will only make sense if you believe everything I say.' And then you say..." Hayden led off again, and Jaxson was completely weirded out by this point. "Why should I believe anything you say?" they both said at the same time. Jaxson's gaze never left the man. This had to be some kind of mind reading ability or something, right? "What I'm doing right now is proof that what I'm about to say is the truth. I assume you probably think I'm a mind reader, right?" Hayden asked, and Jaxson slowly nodded, kind of scared to talk at this point. Hearing someone mimic exactly what you're saying as you say it was very unnerving. "I'm not, and that's the truth." Hayden sighed before continuing. "I can't die." Seeing Jaxson's surprised expression, he clarified himself. "I mean, I technically do die. If you were to shoot me in my heart right now, I would die. But I wouldn't stay dead." "How so?" Jaxson asked, this time only his voice saying it. Whatever trick Hayden was pulling seemed to be over, but he wasn't paying attention to that anymore. "If I die, I just wake up again. I wake up in the same morning as the day I died, as if nothing just happened. No one else remembers what happened during that day, but I remember everything. One moment I'm here, the next moment I'm in bed as if I just woke up from a dream. But I know I'm repeating the day, because everything happens again," Hayden explained, Jaxson hanging on every word. This kind of ability has never been seen before. If this man was telling the truth... "I know you have no reason to believe me, since there's no proof of my ability being real besides my memories. But our conversation just now is proof enough for me. I have died multiple times today, after remembering what you would say in response to me," Hayden continued. Jaxson's guard went down. It would explain how he was able to say what Jaxson was about to say; if he lived through this day multiple times, he would of course have the conversation memorized. "Even if you do not accept me on that ability alone, I have super human strength as well for a second ability. Like, I can lift cars with one hand. And I train everyday, and I'm getting even stronger because of it. I can be beneficial to your team in multiple way. I can give you guys a second chance in case of an emergency." It started to sound like he was begging. Jaxson could tell how much he wanted this. "Please, let me do something good in my life for once." Jaxson stared him down. He really needed to stop trying to get people into the team like this. He sighed, and motioned for Hayden to follow him into the mansion. "Follow me."
