Grand Duchy of Eichenwald
The Grand Duchy of Eichenwald was an independent state, now absorbed into the Republic of Hochwald. It was situated on the Western side and bordered the Kingdom of Charmelac with which is maintained very close relations. When the republican rebellion erupted the Grand Duke of Eichenwald quickly recognized he would not be able to maintain his position. With the help of friends in the courts of Bellebourg the noble family fled to Charmelac and later took a ship from there to Sinisterra.
Before its abolishment the Duchy of Eichenwald was known for its advanced weapon technologies and excellent manufacturing of jewelry. This knowledge and experience helped the noble family in establishing a solid friendship within the Khotam Empire of Sinisterra. The friendship grew so close that they were able to marry their daughter to one of the right hand of the high-chief of Khotam. In the years that followed, the knowledge, experience and insights brought by the former nobility of Eichenwald, resulted in serious reformation and new ways of government in the country. Soon a daughter of the third generation of Eichenwald nobility to live in Sinisterra married with the leader of the new Khotam Union. The Aldion system of nobility and feudalism was adopted in Khotam and it was from 1841 onwards that it was renamed to the Grand Dutchy of Khotam. Two brothers of the former Eichenwald nobility received the title of Grav with lands and entitlement that came along with it.
As such, despite that the Grand Duchy of Eichenwald was long gone, its nobility lives on very successfully across the sea in Sinisterra.
