Hap is what the Dalrans of eastern Emlas call the rulers of their empire of Dalra, and is the official title used by its various subjects, though many also refer to them informally by equivalent words in their own languages.

The hap is the only person in Dalra who has the right to wear purple clothing adorned with traditional dalran rainbow motif.

History

Originally used by the Vanrans, the title was later adopted by Paxatres, legendary founder of Dalra, and was a general term for kings in general during the early days of the kingdom. After the dalrans captured Kilí, capital of the Þekkals, hap has since only been used by the head of the ruling dynasty, while foreign rulers are referred to by their native titles or as stakas, a title used by dalran tribal chiefs before Paxatres.
