The Landship
The origins
It isn't exactly known what the Landship's purpose used to be, but it is speculated that due to it's position where it was found, and the hole it managed to create before it was found, the initial purpose was to make a tunnel and connect the Eastern and Western rivers, allowing trade to flow through more efficiently than ever. The Landship itself was discovered in 998DG by a young dwarf in a "cave", which was really just a hole that the machine drilled through before eventually stopping In 976DG, a great artisan managed to get the Landship to move, and as such, an idea arose. One that could transform the hard-to-dig mountain into a wonder, a fortress, a home for many dwarves who didn't want to live on the surface, a hold. One with walls made of granite that no-one would be able to dig their way through. As such, Hul-Vazhatun was founded.
The Intricate Design
Despite the Landship's amazing potential, it is still limited by many factors. Major one being, it's uncertainity. At any time, the machine could break and the fall of Hul-Vazhatun would follow. As such, the leader of Hul-Vazhatun, Bluereign Mountainmight, decided to allow the Artisans to diasssamble the machine in attempts to figure out how it works. Of course, with insane care and delicacy so that the machine can be assembled again and put back to work. Yet, no artisan of the hold was brave enough to go forward with this request, and as such, the Landship remains running, awaiting it's eventual breakdown, or an artisan brave enough to take on the role of disassembling itThe Current Role
With the Landship working, it's role is mainly to mine out the granite that cannot be dug with convential methods, as well as uncover any other veins (mainly coal ones) that might present themselves in the region. All the input it takes is coal, water and replacement of the several mining blades that make it digRemove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
