Morpheteus
Father of All Magic
An ancient king who lived some 3000 years before the founding of the Empire of Garfarr. He was the first one to discover magic, creating one of the earliest empires with it. His empire was short-lived, he would be killed by his many sons after he introduced them to the secrets of magic. The empire fractured completely, with his sons fighting amongst eachother. Each son would specialize in a different form of magic, which still are the same magic domains known today.
In 195 AG, Velenar Orfikaen was able to bind the soul of Morpheteus, still lingering in the spirit world, to his own. Velenar swore loyalty to Morpheteus, and acts as his representative and servant in the real world. While Morpheteus obfuscates his real motivations from Velenar, he is set on restraining the use of magic, which he believes is being practiced recklessly in this day and age. Regarding magic as a form of art, Morpheteus has tasked Velenar with slaying those who insult his legacy by carelessly handling magic.
