King Max De Julio IV of Lesaboca
The Exiled Worker
Max's Time in Power
Max would be crowned king at the age of 23 in 187 AG following the death of his father Max III in a hunting accident. Lesaboca was in a weakned state at the beginning of his reign with corruption throughout the administration paired with a stagnant economy and a weak military. It was Max IV who would begin the processes of fixing these inherit issues through whatever means necessary. Throughout his time as leader he would be loyal to Tiago II "Aravil o Ja Miran" of Aldarr and would pay tribute to him, Max IV would attend many events hosted by Tiago and would be a valued member of his council. Max IV would begin heavy investment into the Lesabocan Shipwrights and Breweries whilst opening the world renowned market known as ‘The Silver Market’. From this Lesaboca began to regain the power it once wielded. Once King Taigo II died in 203 AG it was Max IV which layed the foundations for Lesabocan independance from Aldarr, however much of the funding for Max's projects came from noble families which Max had strong-armed into paying, making him highly unpopular among the nobility. Furthermore, he was known to be blunt, to say situations as they were and speak his mind freely; this did not help him retain a good reputation at court, over the years the nobles grew tired of Max’s continued ‘exploitation’ of their wealth and when the opportunity arose to replace Max through his daughter Belesa the nobles quickly jumped onboard. After 18 years of diligent leadership King Max IV was ousted by his own daughter and sent into exile whilst all his efforts began to be undone by the greedy, self-centred nobility.Max's Current Situation
Max De Julio now resides in Margvel, here he has settled down on an estate which is heavily guarded. Max is not isolated from the political scene and plots his return to Lesabocan power as he believes his daughter (now Queen of Lesaboca) will destroy all he has made and once again weaken Lesaboca. Max possesses some valuable political links within Aldarr; he has good relations with noble families due to his time on Tiago II council, whilst Max also has a great relationship with the lords of Fluxpora and Vellar. There are those in Lesaboca which still show affiliation to Max, however these people are predominantly merchants and industry owners who directly benefited from Max’s economic reforms. Only time will tell if Max De Julio IV will utilise his political connections and return to Lesaboca or whether he is fated to spend the rest of his days in a humiliating exile.Fact File
