Katerina is a young historian and archaeologist who has dedicated her life to continuing the work of her mother and grandmother before her. She can be somewhat secretive about what that work is, but it at least partially involves tracking down the location of the
Sanctum of the Great Intelligence, which her mother and grandmother both believed contained the secrets to their family's origin.
Recently, Katerina published an account in which she claims to have found the Sanctum and to have discovered that much of what it offers is a sham. However, she does believe, like her mother, that it is a building constructed in the Pre-Wars years. She also believes there are more secrets to uncover. Notably, she believes there is another location like the Sanctum, perhaps even a second Sanctum, where the top Masterminds who control the
Minds of the Great Intelligence reside, and the truth of her family can be found.
Physical Description
Kat keeps herself in top physical shape as best she can. She has long legs and can move much faster than most people. She is strong and very agile.
Kat has very large ears with which she can detect sound frequencies beyond those humans can normally detect. Her body naturally sends out high-frequency pulses which she can use to find her way around in the dark or "see" around corners.

History
According to Katerina, Ellie (whom the Masterminds designate LE00023B) was designed to be the perfect romantic/sexual match for Katerina, but the Masterminds failed to achieve this. According to Ellie, both she and Katerina are madly in love. Katerina claims otherwise. Ellie claims that Katerina only claims that in order to maintain dramatic tension in the account Katerina published about her experiences at the Sanctum of the Great Intelligence.
Although Katerina denies a love match between them, she does acknowledge Ellie as a friend. She also feels responsible for Ellie's lack of a body and feels it her responsibility to look after the biodroid.
Nicknames & Petnames
Ellie refers to Katerina as Katie, despite the fact that Katerina hates being called that and has asked Ellie not to on multiple occasions. However, it appears Ellie does this due to some sort of core programming that she cannot override. Katerina reluctantly accepts this, though never fails to remind Ellie that she doesn't like the name.
