Travelling Circus

When the big tents of the Travelling Circus unfurl on the edge of a dusty Gaulan village, children’s laughter follows in their wake like wind-born petals. Jugglers toss flame rings under canvas, acrobats flip with fearless arcs, and the scent of spiced sweets and sawdust coils through twilight air. Each trailer, painted wild with colour and curlicue, carries strange beasts, illusionists, brassy music and masked faces that hide both joy and secrets.   But under the lights, between acts, the Travelling Circus is more than spectacle. Roustabouts mend broken bone, caring for performers whose bodies cracked under the weight of thrill. Magicians practice tricks that flirt with real magic, while the strong-man lifts weights that groan with both show and sinew. At night, when the crowd’s gone home and only embers remain, laughter echoes hollow in quiet—it’s when performers whisper of hopes and debts, of stories they travel with and stories they leave behind.         Barrett Draco Flutist Fool Raptrek Bard
