Knife Thrower

The Knife Thrower steps into the sawdust ring in silence, clad in dark leather, his blades gleaming under torchlight. Assistants stand against painted boards with hands trembling as he hurls steel in perfect arcs that strike inches from flesh. The crowd gasps with each throw, yet the Knife Thrower’s face never changes—flat, unreadable, as though the act means nothing. When he packs his knives away, even his fellow performers give him space, wary of a man who handles potential death so easily.
