Milldmend

Milldmend sits on the ragged edge of the Dhab’Dhul swamps, where every plank of wood feels swollen with damp and every path is hemmed in by vine and mosquitoes. The town survives by stubborn craft, its structures lashed together from timber hardened against the marsh and reinforced against the constant creep of water. Life here is neither grand nor clean, boots sink into sodden earth and roofs groan under the weight of endless rain.   Traders risk the winding roads to bring goods in and out, for the settlement serves as one of the few dependable waypoints between the more remote villages of Saquakaat and Nerukh. Hunters return with hides from swamp hounds or shells from ironback turtles, while gatherers dig for vaultroot in the boggy soil. To the people of Milldmend, survival itself is a way of life.
