March of the West Tsar
Mercenary army of the Signoria of West Tsar that marches for the highest bidder. The March stands starchily opposed to the ruling Provincial Lady of Belsia.
Dame Kainlyn Vereau rules the Signoria of West Tsar and funds her state through mining trade and old caches of coin that her great grandmother stowed away during the fall of Belcour.
The March is funded by one of these hidden hordes. This standing army of well-trained mercenaries have joined battles both on the mainland as well as foreign continents.
The army was lead by Kainlyn’s son Laenor Vereau for many years while his sister Trynia trained for statecraft under their mother’s tutelage.
When the Tenth Eastern Moot was declared in the Ivorian Heathlands, Laenor was requested to become the Moot Champion to fight for Marcus Windslayer, Kainlyn’s cousin-in-law who has staked his claim to the Eastern Throne.
Laenor’s responsibilities were given to his sister as he left to partake in the political games of the East. Trynia was given three generals to advise her as she got up to speed with maintaining the military branch of her family.
It would not be long for the March to mobilize as a lot of money and influence was at play as powerful families vied for their allies to become the new Eastmonarch.
Trynia, Rose of the West, recieved a letter from her uncle Marcus and a writ guaranteed by the Banker of Skygarde. The March of the West Tsar had been hired to provide military backing to Marcus’ claim to the throne.
The March begain their journey to Blackstock to back Marcus and his Belcoursian wife, Dame Kainlyn’s sister-in-law Arabella Cowan.
The army camped outside the Tanglewood when reports of a banshee spread through their camp. One of the advising generals was attacked and branded with the sigil of House Baudelaire, the ruling family of Belsia and current claimants to Belcour proper.
With security increased around Lady Trynia, she was meant to take part in the final play of the festival circuit in the theatre town of Koh’Las, the last stop before Blackstock.
The heir of House Baudelaire who is currently on the run from a bounty set by her own mother, infiltrated the tower where Trynia was watching the final act and murdered her generals and assassinated the Rose.
The army is now left in disarray, some began the trek back to West Tsar while others aim for the Moot, where their former leader Laenor Vereau, Blade of the West, is training for the Tenth Eastern Moot.
