The Keeper of the Record

The Keeper of the Record is the patron of scholars and academics. He is recorded as a lesser god in the Hallassan pantheon, the scribe of the gods and divine secretary to the Holly Queen, and now serves both the Bright Twin and the Dark as both keeper and revealler of secrets.   The Common Church consider the Keeper's cult to be a curiosity, collecting information, but also making it available to all. They seek to make use of their services without falling foul of them.   His clergy wear russet robes, the colour of book covers, threaded with gold to show their rank.
  • Inquirers (exemplar) make up the bulk of the cult's clergy. They travel to seek out and collect neglected records and eye-witness accounts of momentous events. Some specialise in collecting the personal reminiscences of notable figures who otherwise eschew glory.
  • Curators (guardian/palatinate) protect, catalogue, conserve and administer the cult's archives. These halls of knowledge are open to all, but the curators are also responsible for identifying when information in their archives is needed and bringing it directly to those who need it.
  • Censors (avenger/palatinate) are a secret group who collect secrets and forbidden knowledge to be stored in the black archives, mere existence of which is denied - as is the existence of the censors themselves - but which are said to hold whatever is gathered to the archive, but deemed too dangerous to disseminate.
