Creation
In the beginning were To and Pi, the Void and the Light.
First was To, and first was Pi. To was dark and Po was light, but dark is not the enemy of light. The enemy of light is the Otherfire, which burned in the Nothing beyond To, where first was Var, the Hunger.
Var struck at To and Pi in the Nothing. To put themself between Var and To, and was transfixed by the Hunger's blade, which yet smote Pi with enough force to break off a part of its essence. To escape their foe, To enfolded Pi to hide its light, which then shone only on To and revealed them not.
Alas, the wound in To's essence allowed a single beam of light to escape, providing a beacon to which the servants of Var were sent. To defend themselves, To and Pi produced their first children, Noctis the Shield of Night, and Kraku, the Earthshaking Spear. Moreover, once a year the light was eclipsed by Du, the fragment of Pi broken off by the Hunger's blade, which some called the moon, granting a short respite from attack.
Between the pure dark of To and the pure light of Pi was the Shadow. In the Light above the Shadow was the Corona, the celestial realm, and in the dark beneath was the Ash, where the haunts are scorched by Otherfire creeping through the Chasm.
Within the Shadow, Tet and Aea were born to the Fundamental Gods, father and mother of all living things. From Tet were they given life, and by Aea they inherited death and so were made Mortal. Both life and death are gifts, without which all living things would surely be dull and static.
