The gods that form the Dragostahni pantheon of worship are largely a brutal lot that reflect the nation's history of bloodshed and naked ambition. In the current era, the brothers Krilowiatr and Goruoko are the principle deities worshipped throughout the country, but this was not always the case. In the dim history of Dragostahd, there were three foundational deities: Velshnov was the first who stood with them, who emerged from the caves and underground places. He granted them the mercy of a good death and not coming back, taught them to laugh and play while they had the time. Lakrimajka rose from the depths of the sea and gave men fish and other animals to eat, and taught them the secret signs of magic. Kaifek, who ruled the wild places such as forests, grasslands and mountainsides. He emerged from the dreams of both nature and the people in awe of it, and was considered somewhat more benevolent in those days, teaching humanity how to hunt without the benefit of fangs or claws, and the secrets of plant life that could be both poison and medicine. The union of Velshnov and Lakrimajka gave birth to other deities. Jaralder, the golden child, and his twin sister Sestra brought the cornerstones of civilization to the Dragostahni people: agriculture, metalworking, marking the passage of time and the importance of hospitality, history and art. After them were their brothers, Krilowiatr, who ran swift as the wind and inspired the naval spirit of exploration in his people, while Goruoko with his many faces and keen eyes taught them watchfulness. At the time of the Cataclysm, with the ocean gone and its bottom laid bare, Lakrimajka fell back and lost a tremendous amount of power. Unable to answer the prayers of her devotees, her worship fell out of favor and the people turned their back on the goddess they had once considered their Great Mother figure.
