Kaifek

Divine Domains

Nature, Blood, Strength   Culturally, Kaifek is the god of the wild places, savagery and the madness that can overtake the mind when lost in the elements. Most often propitiated by travelers through deep forest and remote mountainside in the hopes that he will leave them alone, Kaifek has no known temples built in his honor and is only truly worshipped by druids, rangers and hermits that call those places their homes, outside of mainline Dragostahni culture.

Holy Books & Codes

Books and scrolls are ephemeral things, easily destroyed. It's said that if one ventures into the wild places though, they will see Kaifek's laws and admonitions carved an inch deep on certain stones and trees. His worshippers are called to these places to add to the work. Unfortunates sometimes find the bodies of their traveling companions who were ignorant of the laws with such admonitions carved into their flesh.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

An evergreen branch dripping with blood, a cloven hoof print made in red, a V shape made with thorny branches

Tenets of Faith

Only the strong survive. Life feeds on life feeds on life.

Holidays

Everyone knows that the nights of the Widow's Moon are dangerous, when fiends roam the world uninhibited. These are the nights of Kaifek's grand hunts, and his worshippers will roam the countryside under the influence of hallucinogenic tonics, and chase and kill anyone they find in their way. These tonics traditionally took the form of ointments, but may variously appear as drinks or potions depending on the individual worshipper or circle.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

It is no secret that the Dragostahni have developed rapidly with their stolen and improved-upon technology. Progress comes at a price though, and Kaifek's territory is encroached upon as land is cleared to make way for expanding cities and farmlands to feed the swelling population. He would best like to see things return to their pre-Cataclysm ways, with the Dragostahni people (save his chosen) returning to a healthy fear of and respect for the forest, the grasslands and mountainsides. Those in his service often loose monsters into populated areas, burn fields and attempt to sabotage the growing railway system wherever they can. As the Dragostahni nation grows in power, he loses land and worshippers by inches, reducing him. This cannot be allowed to continue.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Kaifek may appear as various beasts, a combination of them, or even as a great tree. He seems to eschew human form, but has been known to appear as a creature with a configuration more like that of a centaur; having the body like that of a stag, the tasseled tail of a lion or unicorn, and a humanoid torso. His head is like that of a mountain goat, featuring thorny branches where curved horns should be and the oversized fangs of a saber cat. From his back and shoulders springs a living cloak of brambles, decorated with toxic flowers and berries that seem to be dependent on the season.
