Stone Hollow
Demographics
Inhabited mostly by foxfolk, but other gricks as well, including a smattering of halflings and the occasional itinerant gnome or dwarf. While mooks and others are not unwelcome, permanent infrastructure built to their scale and comfort is scarce for now, but may increase over time with access to the Verym-Kar'yshal rail line.
Government
The town is run by a mayor who is democratically elected by landowners every four years, and an accompanying town council, to which members are elected on an offset four years, so that each mayor has two years with two potentially different councils to ratify decisions. The politics of Stone Hollow are not fast-moving, and incumbent members tend to hold onto their seats for many repeated terms.
Industry & Trade
Stone Hollow is particularly well known for its plum wine and brandy, stemming from the locally influential Longbrush family who owns the largest orchard in the area.
Infrastructure
Stone Hollow is a town built for the convenience and ease of small-bodied people. They are a largely self-sufficient community with homes, shops, and a windmill and several presshouses to service the farmers and winemakers. Talk of building a station house to accommodate the Dragostahni rail line that runs nearby runs thick through the town, promising bigger visitors with bigger money and the opportunity for export.
Architecture
The homes build here are dug into the sides of hills, with some specialty buildings constructed using simple, standard layouts. Doors and windows are often round rather than rectangular, and the doors of most homes and establishments have a split, allowing the top and bottom halves to be opened independently of one another if the owner so chooses.
Geography
Located in the province of Raurmarik, Stone Hollow sits at the eastern border and shares some of the wooded landscape of the dark Cardovan wood, but is primarily made of low, windswept hills. A natural spring sits underneath the village and has been enhanced with a well system.
