Chief/Chieftess
Qualifications
The leader must have physical prowess, and have been experienced in battle. They must also have the wisdom to lead, or have chosen those to hear council from if lacking in this aspect.
Requirements
You cannot be too young, as you will not have had the experience necessary to lead a full tribe into a battle. They must not be too old, or have health concerns that would inhibit them from fighting fairly in a challenge for the position or for leading the tribe.
Duties
The Chieftan must make the necassary decisions to move the tribe, initiate battle/war, and in turn converse with towns for resources. They are responsible for accepting a child into the tribe, generally an orphan, and appointing a 'guardian' for them, though it is expected that the tribe as a whole watches out for the children.
Responsibilities
They must take stock of resources so that appropriate moving instructions are clear.
Benefits
Power. Recognition.
Accoutrements & Equipment
The Chieftan is not discernable from the rest of the tribe, so you must keep an eye out for the one that is giving orders from front-mid front line of any formation.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Should a chief be found inept to lead, either be becoming too old or having led a battle that has failed, they are to be challenged. Generally the different sect leaders, or even elders if there are any, will appoint one or two others to challenge the current chief for the position.
In the event that this has occurred from a failed battle, it is a fight to the death.
