Snow Skid

Design

Layers of thick worked leather are stretched over a frame made from animal bones and mountain willow. The smaller skids used by hunters and foragers are shallow affairs, no more than 5 feet long. The larger skids used during the treks to and from Pakkan are deeper and can be up to 15 foot long.

Propulsion

The smaller passenger skids are pulled by teams of canines, usually 4-6. The larger cargo skids are pulled by pairs of Yinaak.
